VIETNAM: CANADA’S SHADOW WAR, airing March 26 on CBC-TV, features interviews from a variety of fascinating perspectives, including photographer and social activist Laura Jones. In 1967, Laura fled the U.S. with her husband, John F. Phillips, who was about to be drafted. They settled in Toronto where they founded Canada’s first independent photo gallery. Baldwin Street was the epi-centre for the war resistance movement and home to many U.S. exiles – Laura and John documented the scene through their photography.

CBC Docs has put together an online gallery of some of these incredible photos.
