This year, I joined thousands of other film fans who have taken on the challenge to watch 52 films directed by women in 2016.  It’s part of a campaign using the hashtag #52filmsbywomen.  I’m throwing in an additional twist and making them all Canadian films.

My selection for week 4 is the film Double Happiness (1994) by director Mina Shum.  Thanks, Emily Ramsay for recommending it as a response to the vLog post for week 3!

The film stars Sandra Oh and Callum Keith Rennie.

“Jade Li, a vivacious Chinese Canadian, wants to become an actress without upsetting her extremely traditional parents. It’s a balancing act that Jade is finding difficult to achieve.
