c57s117xihcoyz7u51q0Shot on location in Canada, Rwanda, Bangladesh and Poland, Director/Producer Azra Rashid‘s film A Woman’s Story looks at genocide, survival and physical and cultural continuity through the eyes of three women–Hedy Bohm, Shameem Akhtar, and Anonciatta–who have experienced three different genocides of the 20th century. Rashid is a Montreal-based filmmaker and PhD candidate at Concordia University.

The film enjoyed its broadcast premiere on the Documentary Channel on May 25th and will screen at the Oakville Festivals of Film and Art (OFFA) at the end of June.
